Credit Insurance
Credit insurance is a flexible product, and policies can be tailored to fit almost any situation. Working with an experienced broker like Trade Risk Group will enable you to obtain a policy that meets your exact needs.
Policies can be written to cover domestic business only, export business only, or both. Policies can be written broadly to cover all of your business, or on a more targeted basis to cover only your larger accounts, only certain product lines, only sales to certain countries, etc. And policies can be written for small to mid-sized companies operating only in the US, or for large multinational corporations covering sales from all of their operations around the globe. Tell us what your needs are, and we will design a policy that meets them.
Risks covered include:
- Insolvency
- (Undisputed) Non-Payment
- Preferential Payments
- General Offers of Compromise
- Asset Transfers
- Receivership
- Unsatisfied Judgments
- Work-In-Process Risk
- Political Risks – contract frustration, embargo, currency inconvertibility, war, natural disasters.
Put Contract
When credit insurance is not available to cover your customer (usually a publicly traded entity), a Put may be available. Puts are designed to pay 100% of your bankruptcy loss without deductibles or coinsurance, and are typically written for either 6 month or 12 month terms. Puts are triggered if the customer files for bankruptcy within the term of the Put.
Receivable Puts (also known as Accounts Receivable Credit Put Options, Put Contracts, or “Puts”) enables you to sell your outstanding trade claims to an underwriter in the event that your customer has filed for bankruptcy.
Receivable Puts are underwritten by only a handful of financial institutions. Trade Risk Group is active in this market, and we can assist you in investigating and purchasing Puts to mitigate your risk.
